Heather Campbell, BPR
Communications Specialist and Planner
Heather is a seasoned communications specialist with more than 15 years in the field. She has developed and implemented a variety of communication and marketing plans for both the local and international marketplace, for clients in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. She has developed, implemented and managed successful media-relations plans for numerous clients.
Prior to becoming a communications consultant, Heather was a communications specialist with Maritime Life Assurance Company, InNOVAcorp and executive director of the Champlain Institute.
She holds a Bachelor of Public Relations and a Certificate in Business, both from Mount Saint Vincent University. She taught in the public relations program at Mount Saint Vincent and has authored numerous articles. Her strengths lie in her ability to deliver exactly what the client is looking for, on time and on budget, and with boundless energy and ingenuity.
Katherine Akerman
Market Research
Katherine is an experienced researcher, familiar with both modern electronic media, physical artifacts and stacks of raw archival information. She has assisted in the creation of exhibitions at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, worked as librarian and genealogical researcher at the King's County Museum, and as an archival consultant for Carleton University's Academic Staff Association. In addition to her work with Alidade Marketing, Katherine is currently an independent researcher at Nova Scotia Archives and Records Management.
Katherine has received a Bachelor's Degree in History from Acadia University and a Master's Degree in Public History from Carleton University. She is especially intrigued by the ways in which women are depicted and appealed to in the marketplace and her insight leads her quickly to the crux of her client's needs.
Barry Michael MacCarthy
Market Research
Barry comes to Alidade Marketing with experience in academic, governmental and administrative communication. His time with such institutions as The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency and the 2011 Census involved handling large amounts of demographic data and the creation and distribution of widely-targeted communication campaigns. He also is well-versed in professional, academic and market research as well as data management initiatives.
Barry has received both a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in History from Carleton University. He is keenly interested in the evolution of individual and group identities and the factors which influence it. His strengths include a concise and creative approach in addressing the needs of a project, its clients and its targets.
